Here are different ways to get inspiration

1.Listen to music beats and instrumentals.

Why beats and instrumentals? Because often we listen to a song and get lost in the words and that's all we really think about. So pick a beat or instrumental. And no instrumentals to song you know because you will start singing to it. Just listen to a beat with no words and let the pictures come to your head
Heres some artist I listen to

They make really relaxing music.

2.Look at your old work

Your old work can be a Pandora's box. Although your old work could be worst then the work your making now, your old work can spark inspiration to create something new from old ideas. Remember when we started off in art our minds were open to possibilities. And now I guess we are limited with our ideas. So open your ficcken box !

3.Doodle without thinking!

Bored in class? Your cubical? Work? Bus ride? using the toilet?
Bring a notebook, sketchbook, tablet, napkin.what ever! bring it any place you find yourself getting bored at. Don't even think! Just draw randomly. Then see what you drew later. Then try to build an idea off of that. even if you just drew a box.You can use that box and draw a box in that box, or draw a something coming out of the box, or a box bird I don't know.

4.Listen to a story

Everyone has a story to tell. Friends, families, etc. Listen to what they have to say. And instead of making something  based off of what they did, make something to describe what they felt. Like the feeling of someone getting purposed to,The feeling of losing someone,The feeling of tension someone felt,The feeling of almost dying or falling in love for the second time. what would those feelings look like as an image?

5.String blots

Get a bunch of string and a white piece of paper.(the string can't be white obviously..)
Drop or place the string in random areas and see what they look like. Make an image of what the strings can form.

6.Item Alchemy

This idea was given to me from my boyfriend. I told him I couldn't think of anything to make now. He told me.
Look at all the objects in your house and combine and tweak them in your own style.
example: Chair+pen+birdcage.
person+soap+gamecube.

7.Tropical animals

Tropical animals are beautiful! They are also the most unique kind of animals you can see around the world. You just have to find them. Look up pictures of tropical birds and fish and look at their details and colors. They have wonderful colors! That can be good for a color palette.

8.Consuming desserts

We all love sweets .When you eat them what do you think of? Try  incorporating the sweet your eating and try to describe the taste and texture WITHOUT drawing/writing/taking a picture/etc the EXACT IMAGE  of what your eating.
difficult? Yeah It is but have fun with it.

9.Take pictures while moving the camera

You know when you take a picture and when someone moves it makes the picture blurry?
Take picture of random object or people while your moving. Like in Yes man. When they had people take pictures while running. Something along the lines of that. Then look at your pictures and see what they look like. You never know what the out come could be.

10.Quotes

This is a common thing to get inspiration from. I'm sure we all have a favorite saying or quotes so If you like it so much. It should be easy to make some type of image using that?
try it get your favorite quote and make it come to life.

11.Wonder about the insides

There is some things that we don't know what they look like from the inside. Especially
if we are looking at them on the outside. Image what something could look like on the inside. Like a random thing people could be doing inside a building. Or the inside of a pinyata or the inside of a mirror.

12.Point of view of a situation

What would you see in the eyes of someone caught in a fire? Or what would we see in the eyes of someone who just saw a ghost. Try to create a prospective of a unique point of view to create a scene or to convey a feeling.

13.Combine shadows

Put a bunch of random objects in front of a light source to make a shadow. From that crazy and random images will come up. From that use your imagination to make something out of it.

14.Ask people to create a picture of you.
.
Draw or describe, either way is great. Try to see what they see when they look at you. Get as many opinions as you can and combine them into one singular image.

" Also I mostly just read very old writings in old english. Most of the time I do not understand what is being said but that helps me imagine a meaning and can often give me new ideas"

"Whenever I have trouble drawing, I do a few layers of blind contours with my non-dominant hand (left hand) and sometimes it turns out to be a cool abstract piece. I also like to drop water color or food coloring in random areas on a piece of paper and form an image out of it, which is sort of similar to the "string blots" idea."

Oh and here is my attempt to contribute to the list: Whenever I have trouble drawing, I do a few layers of blind contours with my non-dominant hand (left hand) and sometimes it turns out to be a cool abstract piece. I also like to drop water color or food coloring in random areas on a piece of paper and form an image out of it, which is sort of similar to the "string blots" idea.

Oh these are really good...

I agree with the first one which is why I don't put vocals in my tracks.

Also I mostly just read very old writings in old english. Most of the time I do not understand what is being said but that helps me imagine a meaning and can often give me new ideas :)
